Education

CorrelAid assists non-profits in developing and expanding their data literacy. To this end, workshops and courses on various topics are offered.

With our educational offerings on data literacy, data storytelling, AI, and much more, we want to empower associations, non-profit organizations, and other committed individuals to simplify and automate data-based decisions and processes, and to communicate their impact.

TidyTuesday

TidyTuesday is a global coding challenge around the preparation and creative visualization of data with R. Every Tuesday, a new dataset will be published - in a standardized and “clean” format to ensure that participants can perform their analysis and visualization on a solid basis. There is no limitation in terms of experience, knowledge or technology - you decide which programming language or tool you want to use!

We from the ever-growing CorrelAid TidyTuesday network have been involved for over 2 years! The goal of our coding sessions is to inspire each other and to learn from each other. Experts support beginners “from scratch” in visualizing data: from static plots to interactive visualizations and animations. At the same time, previously acquired knowledge can be put to the test in each session. We place great emphasis on encouraging creativity and curiosity for new visualization techniques.

Furthermore, we offer your non-profit organization our support in creative data visualizations, e.g. for web presences, presentations or publications. We arrange and carry out, in close consultation with you and your organization, a CorrelAid TidyTuesday Challenge, in which all participants can give free rein to their inventiveness and provide you with new insights into the data. All visualizations will be forwarded to you and your organization for selection at the conclusion of the challenge.

Feel free to check out our community’s visualizations on our TidyTuesday repository! You can also read more about the last CorrelAid TidyTuesday Challenge in cooperation with Citizens for Europe here on the blog.

If we have attracted your interest, you are very welcome to book a coding meetup with us here. We are looking forward to meeting you!
