Why should I become a supporting member of CorrelAid e. V.?

With your regular contribution as a supporting member, you give us better planning security and greater independence from time-limited project funding. In this way, you support long-term Data4Good commitment and help to strengthen data skills in civil society. Supporting members receive an annual activity report directly from the Executive Board and can participate in our General Assembly. As a new supporting member, you will receive a small welcome package as a thank you. And: You can deduct your supporting membership from your taxes.

What is the difference between a supporting membership and a membership?

Both - supporting members and active members - are important pillars of support for CorrelAid - ideally and financially! With a supporting membership, you remain flexible: the focus is on regular financial support, which you can adjust at any time. At the same time, it strengthens your connection to CorrelAid and gives you exciting insights. Active membership is suitable for anyone who wants to actively influence the work of CorrelAid and participate in important decisions. At the same time, membership also allows you to stand for election to association bodies such as the Board of Directors or the Ethics Committee.

What is the difference between a supporting membership and a donation?

A donation is a one-off support. With the contributions of our supporting members, we can plan for the longer term. In return, you also have some benefits:

• Annual activity report directly from our Executive Board

• Invitation to our general meeting (observer status)

• A small welcome package as a thank you

When is the supporting membership fee charged?

You can opt for a monthly or annual payment cycle. The direct debit will then be collected for the first time a few days after you have registered and then on a monthly/annual basis.

Can I deduct my supporting membership from my taxes?

Yes, your supporting membership fee is tax deductible. CorrelAid e. V. is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Berlin Charlottenburg tax office: Tax number 27/662/58587, last decision dated 26.08.2021 (valid until 2025, the new decision is in the application process). We can issue a donation receipt for your contribution.

Who can I contact if my details have changed?

Simply send an e-mail to info@correlaid.org with the subject “Supporting membership change” and inform us of the change(s).

Can I change the contribution amount or payment frequency at a later date?

Of course you can change the amount of your financial support or the payment frequency at any time. Please note that the minimum contribution is 120 euros per year or 10 euros per month. Please send us an email to info@correlaid.org with the subject line “Supporting membership change” if you would like to change your contribution.

How can I cancel my sponsoring membership?

In accordance with our statutes of association (in German), you can cancel your supporting membership at the end of each year. Please send us an email to info@correlaid.org with the subject “Cancel supporting membership”.

Can I give a sponsoring membership as a gift?

You can of course also give a supporting membership as a gift, e.g. to friends or family. To do this, please enter the name and address of the person receiving the gift and write a note in the comments field that it is a gift. We will then send the welcome package directly to the person receiving the gift.

How can I support CorrelAid e. V. beyond a supporting membership?

We are happy about any kind of support! In addition to a supporting membership, there is also the option of making a one-off donation. CorrelAid also offers many other ways for you to get actively involved. Have a look here.
